Chris Brown Dissed In Rap Song

Posted Tue 7 Apr 2009 11:10AM NZST by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training
Chris Brown plead not guilty Monday to felony charges that he attacked and threatened his pop star girlfriend, AP reports.

Brown has only made one public statement since the February 8 incident that left Rihanna battered and bruised. Then, Brown only said he was "saddened" by what had transpired and was seeking the counseling of his pastor and mother.

If Brown is convicted of the felony charges he could face the likes of probation or up to five years in jail.

An up and coming rap group has a different opinion about Brown's innocence.

The Jump Smokers has recorded an electronic hip-hop record "My Flow So Tight" that suggests that Brown himself deserves to be beaten. The song's chorus is simple and matter of fact: "My flow so tight and the beat so sick Chris Brown should get his a- kicked."

Last week 15 rhythmic, CHR and rap radio stations in cities such as Los Angeles, Sacramento, New York and Houston have played the diss record.

The lyrics stay on topic, arguing that a boy who hits a girl should be "taken down" and that Brown should "come clean and tell the truth."

Jump Smokers member C.W. Griz said the group recorded the song because celebrities were not speaking out about the alleged incident. "I was really upset with the way a lot of celebrities and people were handling the situation," C.W. Griz told the New York Daily News. "Not enough people were speaking out against Chris Brown. What he did was a thousand percent wrong."

C.W. Griz added that recording the song was not an opportunistic gesture on behalf of the group. "We're not trying to take advantage of a horrible situation," he said. "We want to take a positive stance."

Last month, Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah also released a song about the incident. His track "Song For Rihanna" sends encouraging words to women who have been beaten by their boyfriends.

Ghostface tells the story of a girl so blinded by love that she misses and ignores the cues of a relationship gone awry. He dismisses the actions of a male abuser as qualities of "young boy" behavior.

Various blogs and tabloids have reported that Brown has been depressed since the mishap. I interviewed him early in his career, even writing his first cover story for Vibe magazine. I was glad that he was bringing much needed positive light to R&B music. I absolutely feel compassion for him during this time.

However, I believe that we all are responsible for our actions and have to be prepared to deal with any consequences that they might provoke. So if he is guilty of physically assaulting Rihanna, he has to bear the repercussions. And frankly public scrutiny is nothing compared to the ridicule Rihanna has received not to mention the emotional scars that will haunt her for years to come.

Hopefully, all involved parties and those on the outside looking in will learn a valuable lesson from this tragedy.

what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

I changed my Rip Joe Jonas playlist to a Rip Chris Brown playlist. Cheating on your girlfriend is one thing, beating her up is a whole other story. Chris blew it worse than Joe.

A man should never hit a woman! I grew up in a home where there was physical spousal abuse and it never gets better! The proof is there!

ok...i agree that chris brows is wrong for beating his gf rihanna...but i think ppl are focussing him just coz hes a celeb..what about the women that get beaten everyday by their husbands/bf's ? i know in some states there are laws that allow a man to beat his wife once per month..why dnt we focus on the general idea of women hating then just on one incident ?

I believe that abuse is terrible and should be stopped! Just because he is a celebrity does not mean that he can do whatever he wants. Singers, actors, athletes are getting away with too much stuff. everyone has the same rights and the same laws about time celebrities follow them too.

Everyone needs to stop judging you all have something to say as if your crap don't stink. I'm a women and I don't want a man to hit me but it's not anyones place to take judgement. It's not right for anyone to hit anyone. Does anyone know what goes on in that relationship? NO! So mind ur biz and pray all goes well for these kids cause no one can say or do anything about this other than Rihanna and Chris. So chill out and worry about how to fix your on life before you judge someone else

Chris needs to admit what he did and take the consiquenses. What kind of exaple his he showing kids, it's not right and he needs to be punished. I don't care what "reason" he had to hit her but it's NOT ALRIGHT!!!

PEOPLE ARE NOT IN NO POSITION TO JUDGE OTHERS, YEA, HE IS WRONG LIKE LEFT SHOE ON A RIGHT FOOT, BUT DIDN'T NO ONE GIVE ANYONE A JUDGES PASS, THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY, DON'T GET ME WRONG I'M VERY MUCH AGAINST A MAN HITTING A WOMAN, BUT WE DON'T HAVE NO ROOM TO JUDGE ANYONE, THINK ABOUT THIS,HE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE.

sorry zak but it really isn't our place to judge chris or rhianna do you know what happened in that car do you know if there was really a text or was it something else? I have been in an abusive relationship and it didn't matter what my friends or family members felt, thought, or said I had to go through what I had to go through myself in order to get the courage to leave. It doesn't matter what you or I think Rihanna and Chris should do because they are human and entitled to make their own decisions. All we can do as "fans" is hope that everyone involved makes a good decision. But as you know people do not always do what we think is right they do what they think is right for them.

It's about time I see other entertainers not kissing this fools' @ss. I swear, it was so much Brown support, you'd think he got shot or something. I love how these hypocrites yelling, "DON'T JUDGE." when they doing it to Rihanna saying she started it. I don't give a damn he 'depressed'. He's depressed because he got caught.

Umm, poster #4, where were you when Riri's picture came out? You fans kill me, you just refuse to believe this man did it.

I never liked him before, and certainly won't feel sorry for him now. It's not about judging, I'm not, and that's not the point. I got a problem with these dumb people making excuses for him when there is no room for such, I hate his fans more than Bobby Brown Jr (I can call him whatever I want)

I'm happy they dissing Chris, it's about freaking time, what took these folks so long? Now he can get a taste of the mess his fangirls been giving Rihanna since the jump, gang of dumb tricks.

TO THE 2 GROUPS WHO CAUSED THEIRSELVES DISSING CBROWN, DONATE THAT MONEY U MAKING OFF DISSING CBROWN, TO WORTHY CHARITY, CAUSE GOD HAS THE FINAL WORD, & NOBODY ON THIS EARTH IS GOD!!!!

THE PUBLIC MADE U AND THEY WILL BREAK U.
IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH TALENT U HAVE.
STARS NEED TO KNOW THEY LIVING IN THE SPOT LIGHT AND MAKING LOTS OF MONEY COME WITH A PRICE. THERE IS GOOD AND BAD.
AND THIS IS THE BAD WITH CHRIS AND RIHANNA. THEY TOO YOUNG TO BE IN THAT,ESPECIALLY CHRIS BROWN TO GIVE HIM SELF SUCH A TITLE OF WOMAN BEATER. I MUST SAY THE FAN OF CHRIS BROWN WHERE VERY MEAN TO RIHANNA AND THATS NOT NICE. SHE IS A WOMAN, SISTER,DAUGHTER NOBODY NEEDS OR LOOK TO BE BEATEN. IF RIHANNA GOES BACK WITH CHRIS BROWN I DONT HATE HER BUT I THINK SHE IS STUPID AND CAN DO BETTER SHE HAS NO REASON TO STAY WITH HIM. SHE NEEDS TO TAKE A STAND AND LET HER FANS KNOW SHE IS NOT GOING TOLERATE SUCH BEHAVIOUR FROM ANY MAN. THIS WHAT BEING STAR IS ABOUT ITS NOT JUST ABOUT U BUT ABOUT THE MILLION OF FANS THAT LIKE U. IT SHE GOES BACK WITH HIM AND PRETEND THAT NOTHING HAPPEN I WILL NOT BUY HER CD ANY MORE.SHE WILL NO LONGER BE A HOUSEHOLD ITEM AT MY HOME.

I would like to say that rhinna is a grown ass women if she sits there and let chris brown beat her then it is on her there is to much outside talking going on and no matter what at the end of the day it is still up to her. We can all say what we would have done or what she needs to do but if she does not want it then it will not happen. Not saying that she wants to be beaten on but just saying that if she wanted to end it she can and will.............

16. The Big Valboski -
Hey 4 and 9 if someone had enough money would you let them strike your sis or mom? Last time I checked ol CB hadn't denied that the result of the beating (as Rhinna clearly displayed) was not because of him. If you're looking for someone to defend there are many other much more worthwhile causes you can put your efforts in. And #9, yeah, I can judge. My s*** stinks but I ain't never... ever hit a girl. So I will not be told to be quiet when judging such an action just because I'm not "perfect".... Bottom line... We all get mad, heck, we all get super mad sometimes... but that don't mean that we get to hit someone... And that deffinitly don't mean that I get to JACK up a lady. Holla at Smoke Jumpers "my flow so tight' they know what's up. Furthermore... they are right... In a recent interview Smoke Jumpers said they made their dis song in response to what happened and it was fueled by the fact that no one else was speakin up. Why the heck ain't no one else from the entertainment biz spoke on this junk?

chris is a good guy, its just that he shouldn't have done that stuff to rihanna.

:]

This track is by the Jump Smokers, not The Smoke Jumpers...

abuse; what ever form it takes, is wrong! celebs, because of that certain power they posses having a great of money at there dispensation, tend to believe that they are above the law so they function accordingly; doing what ever they want! what ever happened to equal rights and justice for all! it a shame to admit that today's society has now evolved itself to becoming a lawless society who's function is to work itself around the boundaries and confinement of the law instead of adjusting to it and working with it. No wonder crime is so prevalent and is on a rapid increase and cultures to date! It really doesn't matter now whether or not he feels remorse for his actions, i believe that something should b done about it (punishment) and used as a public example to prevent a future similar occurrence from happening, cuz i believe it will happen again!

the diss is great. truth will change the world.
