Brad Paisley, Framed

Posted Tue 3 Nov 2009 9:51AM NZDT by John Kordosh in Framed
Hello, everyone, and welcome to this, the twelve millionth Framed. Interestingly, this week marks the 1,500th caption to appear in our blog, a mark we're quite proud of. Making the whole thing even more amazing is that 1,412 of those captions have been certified "really quite funny" by the United States government.

Thank you, United States government!

This week our foil...um, guest!...is country music superstar Brad Paisley, who's bringing his great new song and video, "Welcome To The Future." As well-known futurists, we were pretty darn excited when we heard about this, and you will be, too! Released in June of this year, Paisley's song talks about all the technological advances he's seen over his lifetime, and also the civil rights advances: references to Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr. are unmistakable.

We say, well done, Mr. Paisley! It's artists like you who make us proud to embrace our Americanness! We invite readers to enjoy this week's video and captions and to post a bunch of interesting comments about Brad Paisley, country music, the future, civil rights or even Framed itself! All are equally important!

We'll be back next week with the ultimate in the American experience, because we have that power. See you then!

1 -- The residents of Limbo were confused...they weren't in the presence of God, yet they were eternally blissful!

2 -- "An' President Obama says if we harvest the energy of the wind an' turn all of our hopes an' dreams over to the government, the world will be a better place."

3 -- "Get the frog across the street? Ancient man was even stupider than we thought."

4 -- "This great new app allows me to identify each fan by their level of commitment! And, if it's insufficient, to kill them."

5 -- "OK, OK. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. But I was just kidding about your wretched refuse. I mean, c'mon."

6 -- Of course the robots scored touchdown after touchdown! They were robots!

7 -- Cruelly, no one would tell the Army Pole Vaulting Team that this was actually an individual event.

8 -- Don't break their joints, their achy-breaky joints.

9 -- Eventually, the arrogant country star began expecting applause from pedestrians, cabbies and even traffic cops.

10 -- "By the way, how did that play turn out?"

11 -- "Now that time travel is a reality, I guess I'll go back to the Big Bang and make the universe hostile to all life! For kicks!"

12 -- "Yeah, Mr. Bubble, I saw a thousand million punkinheads just last weekend! What do you mean, 'He can't be killed?'"

Kordosh, now that Halloween is over, you can tell Gummo not to worry about Pumpkinhead. I just saw him yesterday at LAX. He was taking his private jet to Aruba for the winter. Now, your friend Gummo can continue trying to enslave mankind, without any problems from that dude with a fricking pumpkin for a head.
