Miley Cyrus, Framed

Posted Tue 20 Oct 2009 7:55AM NZDT by John Kordosh in Framed
Readers know that we'll bring Miley Cyrus back into Framed any time we think your interest may be flagging, and--hey!--welcome to this week! Yes, we're happy to have the teen singing sensation back in our blog for what is surely her 86th appearance!

We love you, Miley!

Our video this week is Miley's "Party In The USA," which (as we write this) is #2 on the iTunes. And, although the bar cannot be described as being set impossibly high, we feel pretty safe in saying that this is Miley's greatest song ever! It's an uptempo, feel-good number that talks about her transcultural identity while referencing Jay-Z and Britney! Seriously, this song works on levels that don't even exist yet!

The video, like the song itself, is also a romp!  You'll see Miley as a fun, goofy, dancing chick with her fun, goofy, dancing friends, having nuthin' but goofy fun! Good for her!

Please post your thoughts about this song and Miley! Are we correct in our analysis, or are we horribly off the mark?? How could that even be possible?!

We also have captions!

1 -- "I think I'll just stand here for awhile and see if I can meet a guy. But how will I catch his interest?"

2 -- Smuggling your gay lover into Canada to take advantage of their health care system is certainly one way to go!

3 -- "Look, Miley! All the kids are downloading Taylor Swift songs!"

4 -- "Make everything about personal responsibility to divert attention from the myriad corporate crimes that have tilted the playing field? Cool!"

5 -- "Is it true? Is a giant space monster eating the sun, like you said, honey? Or is there a more prosaic explanation?"

6 -- "Really, Miley? You can actually rip out Taylor Swift's heart with your bare hand and show it to her before she dies? Damn!"

7 -- "Yeah! National identity cards and forced tattoos! You tell 'em, Mr. President!"

8 -- Miley's new phone app, which forces fat girls to do jumping jacks, may, in fact, be illegal!

9 -- "Hold on. If I invent a third identity I can make even more money!"

10 -- But what if "Ant Jesus" was also down there? Then what?!

11 -- Deciding that the only way to save Taylor Swift was by attacking en masse, Gummo unleashed the entire population of Bubbylonia!

12-- "Remember, America: I'll never sell out!"

funny stuff, but what is not funny is that she is like all young girl singers. sounds the same. playing in the same game. In the end they all suck/ no substance. just hype.

she shouldn't be wearing daisy dukes and shaking her hips when she has little 5 yr old fans. U might not agree because i'm young but... its kinda true

Liked the song...I agree with the #8 comment. She looked to sexy to be a young girls role model. However Jesus should be everyone's role model...be like him. Eventually young girls will have to find young singers to admire, cause Miley ain't gettin younger.

No one really realizes that Miley is now 16 going on 17. Shes really not geared towards yound girls, shes geared towards teens. DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR lol. Yet i think shes making a great transition from Hanna Montana.

omigosh. Just give her a stripper pole and she'll be complete! She is dressing waaaay too skanky and my lil sis who is 6 looks up 2 her and so, she needs to cover up her boobs and butt better. But I do love her music and I have nothing against miley, I just wish she'd cover up more.

She is very talented and it is refreshing to see her go back to a lighter side and have fun. I hope she stays grounded and doesn't get caught up in the growing up hype. This song shows her talent and I am looking forward to seeing what her future may bring. As for now Miley all is a party in the USA for you keep up the good music.

Hi , I think that as far as Miley is concerned , if she wears less instead of more theres more entertainment value meaning more money and concerts , like Britney S, she can live off the Pics alone and cause it generates interest in her , so miley is doin what she wants and doin it very nicely . Thank You
